JKM Manufacturing Reports Growth of 15% in Jobs at Plant in Eufaula, AL

EUFAULA, AL (July 30, 2010) - Chad B. White, CEO of JKM Manufacturing, Inc., announced today that JKM recently added four employees at its Eufaula, AL, plant despite the nation's economic recession.'

White said the new hires equate to a 15% growth in overall employees at JKM, a leading manufacturer of precision and sophisticated products for the defense, communications and aerospace industries, including the U.S. Defense Department.

"We're very proud to announce that we have added these four new jobs to our payroll and that JKM is growing," White said. "We're focused on doing the things that matter most -- taking care of our customers with impeccable quality and on-time delivery.  This has allowed us to grow our business in a difficult economic and financial environment."

With these new hires, the number of employees now working at the plant has grown to 30. White said three of those positions are in the production department, and the other is in the front office, adding depth to customer service.'

JKM is in the heart of the 2nd Congressional District represented by Rep. Bobby Bright. Recently, Rep. Bright toured JKM's plant and met with employees. White said, "he greatly appreciates the support he has received from the entire Alabama Congressional delegation, and hopes other federal, state, and local leaders will visit JKM to meet the staff and tour the improved production facilities."

"In Eufaula, we're trying to do our part to improve the economy," White said. "We continue to see more growth ahead." 

JKM builds products on 23 major platforms, such as guided missiles, military aircraft, flight simulators, helicopters, tanks, industrial robots and sonar test equipment.

Known for its manufacturing of complex wire harness assemblies, rugged electronic systems, circuit card assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies, JKM produces a variety of interconnects. They include custom molded harnesses, complex braided cables, fiber-optic cables, coaxial cables and precision ribbon cables. Its wiring harnesses are used to connect all the electronics of aircraft, tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters, missiles, gun systems, trucks, ships, boats and other vehicles for military and aerospace purposes.

"We're seeing more business from our customers," White said. "They view us as a competitive and strong supplier that is viable and honest. They trust that when they contract with us, we will deliver, and we do."

JKM's customers include General Dynamics, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Honeywell Defense, NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, L-3 Communications, the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and Defense Logistics Agency.

The various military systems and platforms JKM supports include the Abrams M1A1 Tank, Avenger Platform Stinger Missile Launcher, B-52 Aircraft, Bradley Fighting Vehicle, C-17 Aircraft, Cobra Helicopter, F-16 Aircraft, F-16 Cockpit Simulator, International Space Station, LAU 115 Missile Launcher, Minuteman Missile, Phalanx Anti-Ship Missile Defense System, RTS (Remote Targeting Systems), Shipboard SONAR, Stand-Off Land Attack Missile, Tomahawk Missile, TOW Missile and UH-47 Chinook Helicopter.
